MiniMax H3: keyframes or references for your next video?

Understand the difference between H3 keyframe and reference generation, then choose an input workflow for a product shot or a recurring character.

Three starting points for H3

Replicate lists text prompts, first/last-frame images and reference media as H3 inputs. These answer different creative questions: what should happen, where should the shot begin or end, and what should the result resemble?

A frame is an anchor; a reference is guidance

MiniMax's reference guide distinguishes a concrete frame anchor from reusable subject, style or motion guidance. An image used to define a character is not automatically an exact frame in the finished clip. Describe the role of each asset explicitly.

Our suggested workflow

For a product reveal, start with one clear product image and one simple camera move. For a recurring character, separate the character's appearance from the setting and action. Change one instruction at a time so you can see what helped. This is our editorial workflow suggestion, not a guarantee of identity preservation.

Before generating in the video studio, check the selected model's available modes and credit quote. The H3 model guide explains the integration used here. Provider documentation may describe controls that are not exposed in every third-party interface.

A prompt to adapt

An orange cat knight stands before a weathered stone gate. The camera slowly pushes in as the cat raises its shield. Soft morning light, one continuous shot. Use your own pet photo in the Knight Cat creator for a guided version of this idea.
